Martyns most recent book is aptly titled 'More Whistles', published in 2005. It consists of 80 pages (colour front & back cover, black & white inside pages) with over 235 photographs illustrating more than 700 whistles. It includes a far reaching chapter on escargot whistles and details of sirens.

His other two books are 'Whistles' & 'Collecting Police Whistles & Similar Types'.

'Collecting Police Whistles & Similar Types', by Martyn Gilchrist & Simon Topman, is a hardback book consisting of 153 pages, graced with colour photographs of over 350 whistles & 125 illustrations. The book has details on how to identify whistles, lists the many markings on them, and gives information on the various manufacturers. There are police, military and Scouting calls, plus other categories and US patents. "Whistles" consists of 40 pages illustrating over 475 whistles. It gives a general introduction to the wonderful world of whistles and gives many areas of interest including sport, the countryside, transport, the armed services, the police, ceramics and toys.

'Whistles', Martyn's second book (published in 2000), is a colorful introduction to collecting whistles, a Shire book published in 2000, consists of 40 pages with lots of information and plenty of colour & black and white photographs. Shire were the publishers of several collectables books.
